The Account Manager manages ongoing client relationships and effective service delivery as a customer and client facing resource for assigned clients. The primary goals of account management are client satisfaction, client retention and ongoing profitability. Responsibilities include managing accounts, relationships at all levels, contract performance, contract renewal and implementation of new accounts. The Account Manager proactively monitors and communicates client trends, ensures client satisfaction and retention. 



  • Responsible for the management of assigned book of business that can be comprised of employers, employer groups, Unions, third party administrators (TPAs), brokers and consultants
  • Build business relationships as a client facing resource with assigned clients which can include employers, employer groups, Unions, TPAs, consultants and/or brokers
  • Ensure client satisfaction, delivery of service needs and operational commitments are met
  • Manage ongoing contract relationships, client retention, client renewal process and contract profitability
  • Liaise with TPAs, consultants and brokers to serve client needs and grow business opportunities
  • Successfully manage new client implementations and current client benefit changes
  • Serve as point of contact for escalated client issues
  • Stay updated on industry trends and regulations and ensures compliance with HIPAA and PHI regulations
  • Stay updated on service offerings, clinical programs, reporting and tools
  • Collaborate with Account Management team members to serve clients, retain clients, grow business and meet corporate objectives
  • Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time



  • Bachelor's Degree and 3+ years of relevant work experience in sales or account management. Equivalent work experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
  • 3+ years progressive experience working in account management, healthcare solutions, prescription benefit management, insurance benefits and/or pharmacy claims administration
  • Excellent knowledge of Prescription Benefit Management (PBM) industry preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills; must be able to present data in an organized manner
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • High attention to detail and follow through
  • Proven ability to take initiative
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain long-term relationships with customers
