Description:

The Pharmacy Call Center Representative is the first contact for both referrals to the pharmacy and existing patients.  As such, representatives should strive to build relationships with customers to increase satisfaction, compliance, and referrals.  The Pharmacy Call Center Representative is also responsible for assisting the pharmacists with necessary administrative tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Takes inbound calls from customers, pharmacists, and doctors
  • Assists prescriptions thru the pharmacy process
  • Monitors the fax queue and sends fax confirmations
  • Identifies and completes prior authorizations if necessary
  • Collects necessary documentation for billing & sets up delivery
  • Makes follow-up outbound calls as needed
  • Ensures proper reimbursement by 3rd party
  • Documents all correspondence with patient notes
  • Tracks refills & schedules accordingly with patients to assure timely delivery 

 

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician or be able to complete certification within 6 mos. of employment
  • Prior experience working in pharmacy or health care setting preferred
  • Prior customer service or call center experience preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Works well in a team environment
  • Proficient computer skills including the Microsoft Office suite
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and background check

  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in an office environment using a computer and phone for up to 8 hours a day.
